D -- MAINTENANCE ON MICROWAVE SYSTEM SOL 52-DDNW-6-00037 POC LaMar Carlson 301/713-0839 The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Weather Service, Silver Spring, MD, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Bell Atlantic, Silver Spring, MD, for Maintenance on a Bell Atlantic owned, Government leased, microwave system, MicroNet 18 direct radio, Suitland, MD ) SilverSpring, MD (T1). Offerors who believe they can satisfy the requirement must demonstrate their ability in writing. All written responses must include a written narrative statement of capability, including detailed technical information and othertechnical literature demonstrating the ability to meet the above requirement. The response must be sufficient to permit agency analysis to establish a bona fide capability to meet the requirements. Failure to submit documentation will result in the Government proceeding as stated above. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. To be considered an affirmative response, vendors must submit written data and documentation which demonstrates anability to provide maintenance on the system above to include a response time of 2 hours Monday thru Friday 8am to 5pm, and 4 hours outside the PPM and provide all parts. A one year, fixed price contract is contemplated with four (12) month options. Affirmative written responses referencing the below RFP number must be received no later than 45 days after publication to this synopsis.
