DESIGN WORKSHOP FOR PROTOTYPE SIGNAL PROCESSING AND INSTRUMENT CONTROL SYSTEM POC: Timothy Wilfong (805) 734-8232 or wilfongt@plans.vafb.af. mil. A design workshop; for a prototype signal processing and instrument control system will be held in Boulder, Colorado, Oct. 30-31, 1995. The new system will be used initially on Doppler radar wind profilers, but it will have potential for use with other sensors such as sodars and lidars. The purpose of the workshop is to define a wide scope of user needs, to present known problems and proposed solutions, and to develop user/government/industry partnership for the design of a prototype system. There are no government funds available for the workshop or for follow-on activities. If developed by the government at its own expense, the prototype and its rapid successors will be made freely available to companies for commercialization.
