Postal Service (USPS) intends to place an order with ORACLE Corporation to provide a Senior Database Administrator for a six (6) moth period, to support the Customer One System (COS) and FastNet - 3rd Class Tracking system in San Mateo, CA. The application will run ORACLE on a National Windows NT Server and will be deployed to 105 Netware Oracle Database Servers. This requirement must provide personnel with the knowledge of ORACLE running in a Windows NT and Netware environment, must have knowledge of UNIX, VMS, and or VM, a plus. Additionally, knowledge of ORACLE 7 features including data replication, knowledge of TCP/IP protocol, proficient in Microsoft Word, and ORACLE Case V5.1 or Designer 2000. This requirement requires 24 x 7 on-call support with good verbal and written communication skills, and must be capable of performing duties with little supervision. This is a notice of intent to acquire support through an existing contract between the USPS and ORACLE, therefore no solicitation document exists. The U.S. Postal Service will award a contract or an open market purchase order based on the responses to this notice in accordance with U.S. Postal Service regulations and policies. Interested parties are invited to submit a written response with 10 business days after publication of this notice which must include pricing, technical data sufficient to determin capability to meet the entire requirement. The U.S. Postal Service shall be the sole determiner regarding the offeror's ability to meet this requirement. Responses to this notice will be used to determine whether bonafide competition exists. If no affirmative written documentation, technical specs, pricing are received, an order will be placed against the above referenced contract.
