Office. The work includes demolition and removal of existing screens,
wood trim which secures the wood screens, screen doors and rotten wood
framing and plywood on all first and second floor porches. New work
includes providing new screens, pressure treated wood trim sheathed in
vinyl clad aluminum to secure screen material, miscellaneous
accessories, and new screen doors on all first floor porches. Provide
new poly vinyl chloride (PVC) windows and pressure treated wood trim
sheathed in vinyl clad aluminum on the second floor porches. Replace
all rotten porch framing and sheathing with new pressure treated
framing and exterior grade plywood on both first and second floor
porches and rotten plywood flooring on the second floor porches with
new exterior grade plywood. For bidding purposes, assume that 20% of
the existing framing and sheathing shall be replaced on all first and
second floor porches in all buildings and 60% of plywood flooring shall
be replaced on all second floor porches. Also provide vinyl sheet
flooring for all second floor porches, and incidental related work. Bid
opening date listed in item 10 is approximate. Request bid documents by
4 December 1995. Estimated cost is between $500,000.00 and
$1,000,000.00. The proposed acquisition listed herein is being
considered for 100% Set-Aside for Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB)
Concerns. Interested SDB Concerns shall notify this office IN WRITING,
Attn: Code R20.3 of their intention to bid the project as prime
contractor as early as possible but no later than 15 days after this
notice. THIS NOTIFICATION MUST INCLUDE A POSITIVE STATEMENT OF
ELIGIBILITY AS A SMALL SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS
CONCERN, EVIDENCE OF CAPACITY TO OBTAIN REQUIRED BONDS AND SPECIFIC
INFORMATION WHICH DEMONSTRATES THE CAPABILITY TO PERFORM PROJECTS OF
THIS COMPLEXITY AND MAGNITUDE. COMPLETE INFORMATION CONCERNING
MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE IN SIMILAR WORK AND FINANCIAL STATUS SHALL BE
SUBMITTED WITH REFERENCES. IF YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THIS INFORMATION TO
THIS OFFICE WITHIN THE LAST YEAR, YOU NEED ONLY TO STATE THAT YOU HAVE
SUBMITTED AND REQUEST THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATION. If adequate
interest is not received from SDB Concerns, the solicitation will be
issued on an unrestricted basis without further notice. Therefore,
replies to this office are requested from all interested business
concerns as well as from small disadvantaged business concerns. PLANS
