39 -- IFB TO MODIFY FLOATING CRANE YD-246 AT NAVAL STATION MAYPORT, FL SOL N62472-95-B-1450 DUE 112795 POC Contact Point, Irv Fleisher, (610)595-0505, Contracting Officer, Joann Avants, (610)595-0505 The Government intends to issue an Invitation For Bids (IFB) to modify Floating Crane YD-246 at Naval Station Mayport, FL. Modify the two existing capstans with lower speed capstans. Upgrade control system to a 24 volt DC, infinite variable speed system. The control boards will be interchangeable. Existing control system shall be provided with Master Switch for variable speed operation of boom, hoists and rotation. Remove the existing 12 cylinder engine and replace with a 6 cylinder engine with electronic start (the existing engine is air start). The air system will be removed. Provide a load watch system for each hook and boom angle indicator with digital readout in the cab. The cab will be modified. Add air conditioning to the two crew spaces in the barge (common room and change room). Relocate the vent pipes and sounding tubes outside the crane working area. Currently soundings, vents and overflow pipes are located within the normal crane working area. Relocate the fire fighting station outside the crane working area (currently the station is located within the normal crane working area). (0298)
