COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF OCTOBER 27,1995 PSA#1461US Env. Protection Agency, CMD-RTP MD-33 (NCCM-MJ), Research Triangle
Park, NC 27711 66 -- MULTI-ANALYTE GRAPHITE FURNACE ATOMIC ABSORPTION
SPECTROPHOTOMETER SOL D600004M1 POC Lenora Hilliard, Contract
Specialist, (919) 541-4392/Janice F. White, Contracting Officer, (919)
541-4392. The Environmental Protection Agency has a requirement for a
simultaneous, multi-element graphite furnace atomic absorption system.
The system must include a spectrometer, furnace component, background
correction system, circulating cooler, intelligent autosampler,
printer/plotter, personal computer controller, and software.
Additionally, the system must meet the following specifications: (1)
capable of rapid heating necessary for stabilized temperature gradient
along the optical viewing axis of the sample atomization cell (2) a
background correction system capable of correcting for broad-band and
structured background signals at the exact analyte wavelength
(throughout entire workable range) at a minimum of 1.5 absorbance units
(3) ability to process more than one analyte signal at a time (4)
adequate stability and low noise characteristics such that under
compromise conditions required for multianalyte operation, detection
limits ( 1 ug/L for antimony, arsenic, selenium, and tallium can be
obtained, and (5) ability to introduce an alternate gas stream. The
Government anticipates awarding a firm fixed price contract. The RFP is
expected to be released on or about November 13, 1995. A copy of the
source list will be provided at the time the solicitation is issued.
Telephone and telefax requests will not be accepted. (0298) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0298 19951026\66-0005.SOL)
