This is a market survey to locate additional sources of supply to
fabricate Electronic Systems Maintenance and Storage Shelters (S-XXX)
in support of the US Army Area Common User System (ACUS) Switch
Modernization Program. The proposed acquisition will be limited to
Small Businesses. The current Electronic Systems Maintenance and
Storage Shelters, S-639 & S-640, are housed in two standard S-280
shelters and transported aboard 2-1/2 ton trucks. The proposed
acquisition will be a single shelter configuration of the necessary
support equipment typically found in maintenance and storage
assemblages. The S-XXX shall be mountable and transportable aboard the
M-1097 Heavy HMMWV vehicle and will contain an on-board auxiliary
power unit and on-board back-up power system derived from the
transportation vehicle alternator. The US Army expects to procure up to
92 subject shelter systems over the next two years to be broken down as
46 units the base year and 46 units in option year 1. A contract award
is projected by 31 March 1996. Level 3 engineering drawings and other
technical data are not currently available and will not be available
by time of contract award. Production deliveries are required to
commence at a rate of 3 per month by the third fiscal quarter 97 in
order to meet an aggressive fielding schedule. The response must
include documentation demonstrating experience in downsize shelter
programs. It must also include a plan to perform First Article Testing
(including full range of environmental testing ) and meet the
Government's delivery requirements. For additional information, contact
Mr. Jon Vogel at (908) 532-3525. The deadline for response to this
