671-4537 (Site Code DAAM01) The Army Environmental Center seeks
commercial sources to provide remote sensing, data interpretation, and
mapping services. Key requirements include the following: 1)Analysis
of remote sensing data using active and passive remote sensing hardware
and software, photogrammetric and cartographic applications, and
operation of a Geographical Information System (GIS). 2)Provide a
multi-disciplined staff skilled in the application of remote sensing
technology to conduct Preliminary Assessment and Site Investigation
(PA/SI) and Remedial Investigation and Feasibility Study (RI/FS)
studies under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation,
and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA) and similar studies conducted under
the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the Clean Air Act
and other applicable legislation. 3)Knowledge of the application of
remote sensing technology to natural and cultural resource
identification and mapping; and technical capabilities in cartography,
geographic information systems (GIS), photogrammetry and Global
Positioning System (GPS) technology. 4)Required image interpretation
expertise in the following primary areas include: Historical aerial
photograph with the objective of identifying potential contaminant
source areas and characterizing the history of the sites over time;
land use/land cover mapping; geological analysis (e.g. fracture trace
analysis, geomorphological, and lithologic mapping); ecological
analysis and monitoring (e.g. wetlands mapping, habitat analysis); and
cultural features mapping (e.g. features and activities of humans and
their impacts on the environment). 5)The contractor shall have the
technical expertise to field verify the features identifies through
remote sensing. There is no current commitment on the part of the U.S.
Army to award a contract as a result of this request for information
