The coatings to be evaluated will be applied using state of the art thermally sprayed High Velocity Oxyfuel (HVOF) or arc plasma spray processes. In order to extend the service lifetime and reduce subsequent maintenance expense, hard facing cobalt and nickel based alloys will be evaluated.
