COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF OCTOBER 31,1995 PSA#1463COMMANDING OFFICER, ATTN NAVFAC CONTRACTS OFFICE CODE 2711, NCBC 1000
23RD AVE, PORT HUENEME CA 93043-4301 A -- HYDROCODES FOR PREDICITION OF BLAST LOADS INSIDE STRUCTURES. SOL
n4740896R-MW01 DUE 113095 POC CONTRACTING OFFICER, RITA D. PALMORE,
(805) 982-5093 POC Javier Malvar, Code ESC63, (805) 982-1447 or Kevin
Hager, Code ESC62, (805) 982-1382. The Government is seeking technical
information and sources which may or may not lead to procurment and/or
revision of software and user support for modeling the internal blast
load environment from detonation of explosives inside containment
structures. The software must model the detonation of the explosives,
aerosolization of water strategically deployed in the near proximity of
explosive, the heat of detonation or combustion absorbed in converting
the water from a liquid to a vapor state, and the resulting reduction
in gas pressures inside the structure. Thus the software must model
detonation of explosives, fluid-structure interaction of a water
jacket, aerosolization of the water inside the structures, heat
transfer from hot detonation/combustion gases to the water, phase
changes in the water, and the resulting shock and gas pressure time
history inside the structure. Required numerical capabilities include
Lagrange, Euler and/or Arbitrary Lagrange Euler (ALE) processors, and
pre- and post- processing interface. Interested parties must provide
sufficient technical literature for in-house evaluation of the software
capabilities. Closing date is 30 November 1995. All material shall be
provided at no cost to the Government. This notice is not a request for
proposals and no contract will be awarded solely on the basis of the
responses hereto, or any follow-up information subsequently solicited.
Persons interest in submitting a proposal should sent it to Commanding
