H -- STATE OF MAINE, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION: NOTICE FOR FABRICATION INSPECTION SERVICES The Maine Department of Transportation, Construction Division, intends to procure the services of inspection firms for the shop fabrication inspection of structural steel for bridges, aluminum structures, wood bridges, precast/prestressed concrete and miscellaneous shop fabrication items on certain MDOT/Federal Highway projects. This work includes the witnessing of nondestructive testing performed by the Fabricator. These services cover the period beginning January 1, 1996, and extending to December 31, 1997. During this period, it is anticipated that ten structures will require about 8000 shop fabrication inspection hours plus expenses. The Department will consider all inspection firms with experience in shop fabrication of structural steel for bridges who submit a Department Supplied Proposal to the Department by 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 13, 1995. It is the policy of the Department to provide maximum opportunity for participation by small, minority-owned and women-owned businesses. As a pre-requisite to the award of this contract, the selected firm(s) will be required to certify that it is making a good faith effort to comply with all applicable requirements on equal opportunity, nondiscrimination and affirmative action.
