part of the ninth floor of the John Weld Peck Federal Building, 550
Main Street, Cincinnati, Ohio, which includes an approximate 12,000 sq.
ft. area to receive new metal stud and drywall partitions along with
suspended acoustical panel ceilings incorporating new lighting. Finish
work includes new painting, carpet tiles and carpet sheet goods, along
with some ceramic tile. Wood doors are stained. In addition to
lighting, new electrical power work, new fire alarm strobe work and
required equipment for special services is also required. HVAC work
includes new ductwork and mixing boxes to replace demolition of
existing same, along with new boots to new light troffers. An air
conditioning unit with roof top condenser is also required for computer
facilities. Plumbing work involves two new kitchen areas along with a
small toilet room and men and women toilets and locker area facilities
with attached shower rooms. In addition to the above, work is an
existing space involves abatement of approx. 17,000 sq. ft. of asbestos
containing floor tile which is under carpet tile, also to be demolished
and replaced with new carpet tiles. This area shall be repainted and
existing window blinds shall be cleaned. Minor new partition work and
removal and re-installation of existing ceiling panels (for HVAC work)
is also required for this area. Note: Construction for this project
involves phasing. After the 12,000 sq. ft. area is completed, asbestos
abatement proceeds in phases as the existing space remains occupied
(also see optional bid no. 2 for phasing). Moving of furniture and
equipment shall be made by the Government. Work under option 1 includes
renovating three existing toilet rooms; two for men, one for women; new
suspended acoustical ceilings with new lighting and exhaust. New
fixtures and lavatories in compliance with the Uniform Federal
Accessibility Standards. Some existing fixtures to remain. New ceramic
tile as well as new tile over existing tile. Work under option 2
includes new sprinkler system for both the new 12,000 sq. ft. and
existing occupied areas. Will also include the three toilet rooms of
option 1. Sprinkler work also involves phased construction while the
existing space is occupied. The completion time for this project is 300
calendar days from receipt of notice to proceed. Estimated cost of the
project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000.00. In order to be
considered for award, bidders must quote a lump sum price for the
alterations, as well as, separate prices for the two options. This
procurement is set aside for small business. The standard industrial
classification is 1542, the size standard is 17M. Anticipated issue
