C -- A/E SERVICES - CORRECT FIRE SAFETY DEFICIENCIES SOL RFP 554-16-96 DUE 113095 POC Contracting Officer, Noella B. Pregill, (303)393-2849 This Project, Correct Fire Safety Deficiencies, Project No. 554-95-105, consists of Mechanical and Electrical design work to upgrade the facility's fire sprinkler system and smoke alarms. The work shall include, but not limited to the following: 1. To provide CADD deliverables of an up-to-date ''As-Built'' of all areas of the Medical Center affected by the proposed new construction (to include replacement of heads) on provided architectural CADD backgrounds. 100% from hard copy drawings of the existing ''as-built'' system. 2. To provide an Engineering Study of the existing and proposed Fire Sprinkler Systems for determining the hydraulic capabilites of the Station-wide Fire Protection System and a recommended plan of action for future improvements, to include future hydraulic capabilities. The study will include a detailed review/analysis. 3. Mechanical Design. To replace existing Standard sprinkler heads with Quick Response sprinkler heads at all locations on the 1st floor to the 9th floor (all wings) for the main hospital, Buildings #24 and #38, and other areas as may be required by code. To replace main shut off valve for Building B. To add additional sprinklers at various locations of the facility, to include hazardous areas, Library, X-ray areas, Pharmacy, Building #24, high density shelving. Electrical Design. To add additional Smoke Detection cabilities at various locations within the Medical Center. This entire project shall be designed based upon the latest versions of the NFPA codes and other codes, JACHO, RSFPE and other review agencies. The A/E shall provide all professional services necesssary to perform all required design services which will result in a complete set of As-Built drawings of the existing fire protection sprinkler system, A complete Hydraulic Study (review/analysis) A complete set of Construction Drawings and Specification Documents for bidding purposes. Construction period services, site investigation and a Fire Protection Engineer's certification will also be required for this project. This procurement is 100% set aside for Emerging Small Business, Standard Industrial Code 8712. Qalified firms, within a 100 mile radius of Denver, submitting applicable SF254/255 no later than close of business 11-30-95 will be considered. *NOTE: This is NOT a request for proposal. (0303)
