This project consists of the renovation of the toilet and shower rooms in three buildings (Nos. 5902, 5907, and 5906) and asbestos abatement and demolition in four buildings (Nos. 5639, 5643, 5646, and 5647) at the Westover Job Corps Center located in Chicopee, Massachusetts. The renovation work involves the replacement of shower pans; the construction of new CMU partitions; the installation of doors, hardware, new plumbing fixtures, new toilet partitions, new lighting; and painting. The asbestos abatement work involves the containment, removal, and disposal of asbestos containing material; the demolition and disposal of debris from of all four buildings; and the regrading and refinishing of the site. The period of performance for construction is 240 calendar days from receipt of notice to proceed through completion of the project. The estimated cost range of construction is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. It is emphasized that requests for plans and specifications should be directed the A/E firm listed above to ensure proper handling of requests. Plans and specifications will be made available for pick up at the A/E's office and also for delivery at an additional charge. Requests must be in writing and will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis until the initial supply is exhausted. For requests made after the initial supply is exhausted, a non-refundable fee not to exceed the actual cost of reproduction of the IFB documents (to be determined by the Contracting Officer,) plus a shipping charge based on each individual request (if applicable,) will be required in order to obtain the IFB documents. Pre-Bid Walk-Thru is scheduled for November 21, 1995, at 10:00 a.m. (local) at the Center. This will be the only opportunity to review the job site prior to submission of bids.
