The project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to install a lookout gallery (LOG) as follows: The LOG will be floor-supported on 5'' x 5'' steel columns with footings as shown on the plans. The construction of the LOG will be 3-5/8'' metal studs with 2'' sound batts between 5/8'' gypsum board outside and 1/2'' inside. The floor of the LOG will be carpet installed on concrete supported by metal deck. There will be five ''breakout'' locations with ladders from the LOG to the workroom floor. Electrical will provide lighting and outlets for cleaning and safety lights according to the plans. Postal Service supplied items will be safety lights for outlets and locksets for the breakout doors. The estimated cost range is between $145,000 and $180,000, with a construction completion date of 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed.
