This is a Notice of Intent announcing thaat the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), 1900 E Street, NW, Washington, DC 20415 intends to negotiate with Landis & Gyr Powers, Inc., 11800 Baltimore Avenue, Suite 105, Beltsville, Maryland 20705 on a sole source basis for provision of technical assistance and emergency services 24 hours per day, 365 days a year for maintenance and repair to DEC HOST COMPUTERS and as released by the manufacturer, for the Powers 600 Insight System Energy Management System. Period of performance is March 1, 1996 through September 30, 1996, with the option to extend the contract for (4) additional one year periods. The following is a list of equipment to be maintained: 1) DEC 11/53 Mini 2) Tektronix CLR CRT 3) B/W CRT 4 4) R/O Laz10 Print 5) Battery Clock 6) Telephone Modem 7) Trunk Interface 8) Insight 11 Software 9) Stand Alone Units 10) Digital Point Unit (Mfg. by Landis & Gyr Powers). All interested parties who believe they can meet this requirement should submit in writing a substantive statement specifying their ability to meet these requirements. Repsonses must indicate whether offering is available under GSA Schedule and must include the GSA contract number, if available, prices, and sufficient information to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement. If applicable, include a copy of the schedule. The Government does not intend to pay for the information provided. Oral communication is not acceptable and will not be honored. No contract award will be made on the basis of any responses to this notice because this synopsis of intent to negotiate on a sole source basis shall not be considered a solicitation document. No solicitation document exists, therefore, a request for a solicitation document shall not be considered an affirmative response and will be disregarded. All responsible sources mayrespond to this synopsis and will be fully considered. Information received as a result of this notice will be considered soley for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative written responses are received ithin (15) calendar days after the publication of this synopsis to the effect that a comparable source is available, or is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Landis & Gyr Powers, Inc.
