Environmental Protection Agency is planning to acquire an Agency-wide
site license for Lotus Notes Groupware and accessory products. This
site license will be acquired on a sole-source basis from Lotus
Development Corporation to meet the Agency's needs over an
approximately five year period. This procurement will include upgrades
to the installed base, maintenance of the installed base, and
acquisition of new licenses as required. There are approximately 5,500
Lotus Notes licenses, 10,800 Lotus 1-2-3 licenses (network and
standalone), and 4,200 Lotus CC:Mail mailboxes plus the gateways and
other accessory products. The license will include all available
platforms for servers including OS/2, Novell, Windows NT, and UNIX. It
will also include all available platforms for clients including DOS,
DOS/Windows (all versions), UNIX and OS/2 for both on-site and remote
users. MAC clients are included where available. The acquisition will
require one year renewable warranties for all versions of the software
which will include future updates and upgrades. The proposed contract
will include provisions for incorporating engineering changes and
technological upgrades and updates. Hotline support must be available
seven days per week. EPA has identified Lotus Notes and Lotus 1-2-3
products as Agency standards. No solicitation is available. Any
interested vendors wishing to respond to this synopsis must do so in
writing. The response must provide detailed information on proposed
products which clearly meet the requirements stated above. Any response
failing to provide the aforementioned data but instead choosing to
merely submit their routine letter requesting a copy of the RFP will be
ignored. Responses must be received within fifteen days from
