ADVANCED WEATHER SYSTEM, which shall be high speed 280kbs, C-band with continuous data feed, unlimited near real time access to all NEXRAD WSR-88D sites, and unlimited near real time access to all regional and national radar composites with 5 minute updated and 2km resolution. Optional access to real time lightning data that can be shown stand alone or overlaid on NEXRAD radar presentation, and optional winds aloft data at 3,000, 9,000 and 18,000 feet. The system shall have the capability to automatically receive, store and instantly loop and/or replay a full spectrum of vital weather products. Must have multi-tasking capability to permit simultaneously receiving new data while manipulating, looping and replaying stored and updated new data. Solid state RAM animation memory. The system must allow the operator to assemble and animate time-lapse loops containing anywhere from 1 to 140 image frames per loop. The system shall have two displays, one remoted approximately 150 feet, capability to access near realtime regional composited radar data, updated every 5 minutes with 1 nautical mile resolution. It must have adjustable range rings with nautical mile digital readout and user selectable and adjustable range rings with center point offset capability.
