Contact Kliss McNeel. Lockheed Martin Idaho Technologies (LMIT), P.O.
Box 1625, Idaho Falls, ID 83415-3765. Lockheed Martin Idaho
Technologies, a management and operating contractor for the Department
of Energy at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory (INEL). The
Lockheed Martin Idaho Technologies (LMIT) Mixed Waste Focus Area (MWFA)
intends to compile a list of firms capable of performing mixed waste
(radioactive and hazardous) treatability studies using both
conventional and innovative technologies. Radioactive waste is defined
by the Atomic Energy Act, while hazardous waste is defined by the
Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and resultant
regulations. A recent database compilation of mixed waste streams in
the Department of Energy (DOE) complex identified approximately 2,000
waste streams with widely varying volumes, radioactivity levels, and
hazardous constituents. Specific information on these waste streams is
available from the contact name given below. The list of firms capable
of mixed waste treatability studies will be provided to MWFA waste
management and environmental restoration managers to assist them in the
identification of available resources and facilitate demonstration of
mixed waste treatment technologies. The MWFA program believes that
demonstration of treatment at available mixed waste facilities will
expedite treatment and disposal of these waste streams. Firms with
current facilities, licenses, and permits to demonstrate mixed waste
treatment on a bench scale, pilot scale, or production scale are asked
to submit a contact name and address to Kliss McNeel, LMIT, P.O. Box
1625, Idaho Falls, ID 83415-3875 telephone: (208) 526-7925. Subsequent
information may be requested from respondents on available
technologies, capacities of available mixed waste treatment systems,
and facility waste acceptance limits for radionuclides or hazardous
constituents. Contact information is due two weeks from the date of
publication of this notice. This solicitation is not associated with a
specific contracting opportunity. (304) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0007 19951102\A-0007.SOL)
