WILLIAMS, (205)933-4492 The DVAMC, Tuscaloosa, Alabama requires the services of an A/E for the project titled ''TB Modifications.'' The scope of work for this project is to prepare preliminary plans and cost estimates for two concepts to meet HVAC design criteria, i.e. exhausting all air and recirculating air with mechanical controls. This will require material and installation cost plus an energy evaluation. At the completion of the preliminary submittal and approval of the disign concept, the A/E will proceed with development of working drawings and specifications. Work will involve but not limited to the following: modification to existing HVAC systems in Ambulatory Care, Radiology and Morgue to meet Veterans Affairs HVAC Design Criteria and CDC requirements. Design will require close coordination with Engineering and Medical Center personnel, which will involve detailed investigation and communications. The services of a CIH will be required for the development of asbestos removal documents and construction period monitoring/inspection. 2. The A/E shall prepare all documents for this project from interaction and planning with the DVA Engineering Service and Acquisition & Material Management Service Staff. The A/E shall meet with the DVAMC staff as required to accomplish the task described in the scope of work. The A/E shall make site surveys, verify as-builts drawings, analyze existing utility systems as necssary, and complete any and all work necessary to furnish a complete Design Development in accordance with DVA Handbook H-08-15, Volume C, ''Minimum Requirements for A/E Submissions for Minor and Minor Miscellaneous projects and scope of the referenced project. The construction costs for this project is estimated between $100,000 and $500,000. The area of consideration is restricted to within a 250 mile radius of the DVAMC, Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
