The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to conduct a limited competition between Alliant Techsystems, Inc, 600 Second Street, NE, Hopkins, MN 55343 and Westinghouse Electric Corporation, Naval Systems Division, 18901 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44117-1388 for MK 50 functional item replacements. Alliant is the designer, developer and manufacturer of the MK 50 Torpedo. Westinghouse was developed as a follower through a familiarization and qualification process. No other firms have the prerequisite technical knowledge, special tooling and test equipment to fabricate, integrate and test MK 50 Torpedo hardware within the required delivery schedule. (0306)
