For information on this procurement, call Michael mchugh (810) 574-7153 The U.S. Army tank-automotive and armaments command is seeking comments on a draft RFP from sources interested in a remanufacturing program for M809 and M939 series medium tactical trucks. The acquisition will consist of two (2) Phases. Phase I will include the acquisition ofa specified number of prototypes. Under phase I, up to three (3) contractors will be awarded contracts. During phase II, a single five (5) year production contract WI LL be awarded. Competition for the phase II production contract will be limited to phase I contractors only. Phase II will include the remanufacture of approximately 8,000 USMC vehicles. Additional Navy vehicles may be accommodated. The Army also plans to participate in thisprogram. Current estimates involve approximately 3,000 Army vehicles. This procurement will be a remanufacture, with technology insertion, of M809 and M939 series 5 ton tactical trucks. This notice is for a draft request for proposal (RFP) for phase I. The draft RFP will be released for comment on approximately 21 Nov 95 with an estimated closing date of 21 DEC 95 for comments. The formal RFP will be released on approximately 22 Jan 96 with an estimated closing date of 22 Mar 96. The draft RFP will include all required specifications, including the required performance specifications for remanufactu Red vehicles. However, in order to receive a copy of the current technical data package (TDP) for the M809 andm939 series vehicles, a $5,000.00 bid deposit is required. The bid deposit will be refunded only to those firms submitting a bona fide, timely offer in response to the format RFP. See NOTE: None.
