Duran, (619)552-7514 Open-End Architect/Engineer (A/E) contract for Architectural Services for the VA Medical Center, San Diego, CA. The contract to be awarded will have a term of twelve (12) months, beginning from date of award. The VA will have the option of extending the contract for an additional two option years. However, the maximum amount of work that can be obligated over the course of the contract is $450,000.00. Further, the A/E fee for any single project under this contract shall not exceed $75,000.00. A/E selection criteria will include: (1) professional capacity of A/E firm to accomplish contemplated work; (2) professional qualifications of the firms staff to be assigned to accomplish anticipated VA projects, especially in the area of ambulatory care and patient privacy; (3) past experience, if any, of the firm with respect to performance on VA/Government contracts; (4) present workload of the A/E firm as it relates to the capability of the firm to accomplish projects contemplated by the VA in a timely manner; (5) location of the firm in relation to the VA Medical Center - San Diego (maximum of 120 miles from San Diego); (6) ability to complete working drawings in electronic format which is compatible for use on VAs Accugraph Mountain Top software, which is compatible with Autocad Version 12 .dxf format; and (7) ability of the A/E to work in an asbestos environment using protective respiratory equipment. Responses to this announcement must be received by 4:00 pm (local time) on December 14, 1995. This is not a request for proposal. All qualified Architect/Engineer firms are invited to submit their completed Standard Forms 254 and 255 to the Contracting Officer at the address provided above (see Note 24 on Monday issues of CBD for additional information). Note: A/E qualifications statements submitted must clearly indicate the office location where the work will be performed and the qualifications of the persons at that location who will work on VA projects under this contract.
