M -- MANAGEMENT AND OPERATION OF YUMA DESALTING PLANT, YUMA, AZ SOL 1425-6-SP-30-11830 DUE 011596 POC Patricia Geary, Contracting Officer, at 520-343-8137; Synopsis No. 95-50 The Contractor shall furnish the day-to-day contract management, planning, supervision, administration, personnel and supplies except those specified as Government furnished, for the Operations and Maintenance of the Yuma Desalting Plant and Research Plant on a 24 hour, 365 day per year basis and to provide the Warehousing. The YDP is located approximately four miles west of Yuma, Arizona, and is a reverse osmosis desalting plant. Due to non-plant related conditions, the main desalting production equipment is currently not being operated and is being maintained in a ready reserve condition. (Ready reserve means preventive maintenance is performed on the equipment and systems, are repaired, and their condition preserved, such that operational readiness is maintained and the plant can be restarted within a one year period.) The facilities support as well as Research Plant systems and equipment are in operation. It is anticipated that the YDP will remain in ready reserve status for fiscal year 1997 and start production operations at 1/3 capacity in 1998. Production operation of the full plant or a portion thereof, however, also may be required. Performance time is one base year, plus four 1-year options. Evaluation criteria will be applied to technical and cost areas. The small business size standard is $5 million and the standard industrial classification code is 8744.
