to the Original Synopsis for this requirement, advertised in the June
26, 1995 Commerce Business Daily (CBD). Revision No. 1 appeared on July
17, 1995; Revision 2 appeared on September 29, 1995. The purpose of
this revision is to incorporate the following information: (1.) The
September 29, 1995 advertisement made reference to an on-site
examination of the artwork. This examination is not required before
submission of the Step One technical information. However, on-site
examination is mandatory prior to submitting Step Two Evaluation Report
(pricing, etc.). Visits are to be coordinated through the GSA
Contracting Officer. Anyone interested in arranging a visit should
contact the Contracting Officer, Gregory Wright, at the GSA address
shown above, or FAX no. (215) 656-5836. (2.) No specification package
or bid forms will be sent out prior to the Step One technical
submissions. Information submitted is required only to be typed and
legible. Further the purpose of Step One is solely to determine whether
a prospective conservator can or cannot perform the work. There will be
no ranking or prioritizing of firms based on this initial information.
(3.) Rating of firms, from most highly qualified to least qualified,
will, however, be conducted based on information submitted in the
Evaluation Report (Step Two); as mentioned in the previous Commerce
Business Daily advertisement, the Evaluation Report is to consist of
the conservator's recommendations for treatment, scope of work for
conservation, time estimate for all work, and price proposal for the
conservation of the artwork. This Evaluation Report is to be submitted
in response to the Step Two solicitation. More information regarding
this rating of firms will be provided in the Step Two solicitation.
