0002 17. AN/TPN-19 Landing Control Central Upgrade. This notice is
issued for the purpose of conducting Market Research on
systems/technologies that could be used to upgrade the AN/TPN-19
Landing Control Central systems. The AN/TPN-19 functions as a tactical
radar approach control/ground controlled approach (RAPCON/GCA) radars.
This system currently provides terminal control capabilities through an
airport surveillance radar (ASR), identification by a secondary
surveillance radar (SSR), and precision landing capability through the
use of precision approach radar (PAR). Contractors are requested to
provide specific information on the following: (1) Comments on draft
Statement of Objectives (SOO) and draft System Requirements Document
(SRD). These documents are available electronically via Hanscom
Electronic RFP Bulletin Board (HERBB) at (617) 274-0500 or fax request
to Larry Feldhaus SM-ALC/AQ (916) 643-1184. (2) Rough Order of
Magnitude (ROM) cost and schedule based on the task as described in the
SOO and SRD. Cost and schedule information should be broken down into
the First Article and the follow-on production/modification efforts.
The First Article schedule and cost information should include design,
hardware procurement, anticipated long lead items, system integration,
acceptance testing, qualification testing and all associated data
deliverables. Cost and schedule information for the
production/modification effort should be on a per system basis for up
to the 10 existing AN/TPN-19 systems. (3) Sources Sought for
development of a contractor list for soliciting the AN/TPN-19
requirement. (4) Industry Practices for this type of commercial effort
for the following, including but not limited to: (a) spares, (b)
repair, (c) warranty, (d) payment/financing, (e) commercial
standards/specifications, (f) logistics/systems support. Interested

than November 15, 1995. The Government does not intend to award a
contract on the basis of this notice or to otherwise pay for the
information solicited except as provided in the subsection 31.205-18,
Bid and Proposal (B&P) costs of the Federal Acquisition Regulation.
