Renovation to include asbestos abatement, new HVAC, med-gas system, nurse call, telephone, fire alarm/sprinkler, electrical distribution system and architectual alterations. Technical capabilities required are mechanical, electrical, architectual, structural and environmental disiplines. a certified industrial hygienist must be part of the design team to conduct asbestos survey to identify areas that will require asbestos removal and to provide construction admin. services. Contractor will be selected based on the criterial outlined in FAR Part 36. Factors for evaluation in order of priority are: (1) Professional qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance of required servuces; (2) specialized experience and technical competence in the type of work required; (3) capability to accomplish the work in the required time with assigned key personnel; (4) past performance on contracts with government agencies and private industry in terms of cost control, quality of work, and compliance with performance schedules; (5) geographical location of firm with respect to work site and knowledge of local area. Area of consideration is restricted to firms in the State of Oregon. Estimated construction range is $500,000 to $1,000,000.
