C -- RENOVATE BLDG.#3 SOL RFP 529-2-96 DUE 120795 POC Contact Point, Terry Blair, (412)477-5052 Architect-Engineer professional services for the design of complete drawings and specifications, construction period services, and the IH design and monitoring of the related asbestos removal requirements for Project ''Renovate Bldg. #3''. The main purpose of this project is to renovate various areas throughout the building, remodel all toilet facilities to incorporate all Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS) and handicap requirements, provide handicap access to all interior and exterior space, replace the secondary electrical system and all devices, install a nurse call system, waterproof exterior walls, install a french drainage system, the removal and asbestos abatement of the hot water heating system, and the design of an exterior smoking shelter. All design and renovation shall comply with life safety codes. Completion time for A/E design services is one hundred and thirty-five (135) calendar days (excluding Government review time) from Notice to Proceed. Only firms with prior experience in the design of similar type projects, and those with the professional capacity to complete this type work will be considered. Firms must be located within 100 mile radius of the VA Medical Center, Butler, PA. Firms which meet the requirements are invited to submit 2 copies of completed Standard Forms SF 254 and SF 255 to the Contracting Officer by 12/7/95.
