It is the intention of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to contract with Computervision, Inc. for the provision of Software Systems Analyst services for it's Prime Level A (6550 and 9955II) minicomputer systems located at the National Business Center, Denver, CO. The analyst assists in matters pertaining to configuration and use of BLM's Prime computer, and provide related technical assistance to BLM personnel. The analyst is required to have access to Computer vision system support staff for timely resolution of problems related to sensitive Bureau applications that are dependent upon Computervision systems. The analyst must be competent in overall system capabilities, functions and processes including detailed knowledge of the Computervision proprietary operating system (PRIMOS), data communication system, input/output operations and the devices supported, file management system, data base and system utilities. This is a planned, short-term contract, with a steady decline in requirements. The contract will be for a one-year base period with three (3) six-month option periods. The BLM's Modernization Contract (ALMRS) schedule calls for rehosting the production applications from the Computervision systems to a new suite of computer systems. The schedule for completing the rehosting is mid 1996 to early 1997. The Computervision systems are scheduled for release at that time. Vendors able to meet these requirements are invited to identify their interest and ability by submitting a proposal to include technical data, pricing, and any other information which shows a bona fide ability to meet this requirement within 30 days of this publication. If no affirmative responses are received within this time frame to determine that a comparable source more advantageous to the Government is available, negotiations will take place with Computervision.
