The work includes replacement and closure of existing underground storage tanks (UST's) located at Barksdale Air Force Base, to bring identified (UST'S) into compliance with the Code of Federal Regulations, 40 CFR 280 and 40 CFR 281. A support building and fueling stands shall be demolished, fuel dispensers shall be replaced, a loading and unloading pumping facility shall be constructed, and new double wall underground tanks and piping shall be installed. Existing tanks range in size from approximately 1,000 gallons to 25,000 gallons, and will be closed per Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality closure requirements. NOTICE: THIS IS AN AMENDED SYNOPSIS: AS A RESULT OF THE ADAROUND VS PENA U. S. SUPREME COURTS DECISION AND DISCUSSIONS WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, THIS SMALL DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS SET-ASIDE PROGRAM IS SUSPENDED.
