Construction Coordinator (212) 748-7844. Scope of Work. A general
contractor will perform the following work: demolition, masonry, gypsum
drywall, fire safety, metal doors, frames and hardware, plaster work,
painting and stone masonry restoration. Provide all necessary labor,
material, equipment and services for architectural life safety
construction and renovation of USPS's mail processing facility and
federal office building at 90 Church Street, New York, NY. USPS and
other federal agencies currently occupy the building. The USPS intends
to perform an architectural life safety upgrade to the interior stair
towers (including but not limited to the egress stair doors and
frames) and other miscellaneous elements within the building. All work
will be performed in a fully occupied operational mail processing
facility and office building. Project milestones have been set and are
explained in the solicitation. Work shall comply with all applicable
federal, state, and city requirements and USPS policies as indicated in
the Project Technical Specifications. A pre-proposal conference will be
held at 90 Church Street at 10:00 a.m. on November 28, 1995. All
offerors are strongly urged to attend. The estimated price range is
between $300,000 and $400,000 with completion within 183 days.
Solicitation packages will be available on or about November 15, 1995.
Requests for packages must be sent to Boston Properties, Suite 800, 90
Church Street, New York, NY 10007, referencing solicitation
109480-96-B-0002. Sealed offers must be received prior to December 13,
1995 (offers will not be publicly opened). The number of offers
received, the identity of offerors, the amount of any offer will not be
disclosed until time of contract award. Award will be made in
accordance with section M of the solicitation. In responding, please
submit evidence of competency requirements and contractor's
qualifications. This includes evidence of the successful completion of
projects similar in dollar value and performed within the past two
