Dayton/Lmke/(801)777-0905 The ICBM System Program Office (SPO) is
initiating an effort to convert from the Associate Contractor ASCON
concept of weapon system life cycle management for the Minuteman III
and Peacekeeper weapon systems to one in which there is a single prime
contractor responsible for weapon system integration, assessment, and
sustainment, excluding depot maintenance. The SPO is interested in
receiving conceptual ideas from industry in order to examine
appropriate strategies for conducting this management conversion. To be
considered a viable candidate, respondents must demonstrate in-depth
knowledge of and experience with ICBM systems and sub-systems.
Additionally, prior experience in sustaining ICBMs through logistics
and engineering activities as well as recent experience in integration
of weapon system components is preferred. At this time, the SPO is
soliciting substantive concepts and strategies only. Submittals which
are designed to market company capabilities will be discarded. Any
future plans to issue a Request for Proposal (draft or formal) will be
synopsized separately. Respondents should submit their concepts in
written outline form to Charlotte Dayton, OO-ALC/LMKE, 6014 Dogwood
Avenue, Hill AFB UT 84056-5816 FAX number (801)777-0990. Submittals
will be evaluated for uniqueness and innovation, and subsequent
determination will be made as to the need for a discussion with one or
more of the respondents. Submittals become the property of the SPO for
partial or complete incorporation into this effort, as deemed
appropriate. A Government/Industry information meeting will be held at
Hill AFB, 21 Nov 1995 in Bldg 1258, Room 1, to acquaint interested
Contractor's with the Government's current concepts and baselines. This
is for information only, no contractor's presentations will be
permitted. We are planning two sessions at 0900 and 1300 hours. If you
plan to attend please supply the above point of contact with the names
of attendees, (limited to 3 per contractor), time you wish to attend,
and FAX number, no later than 17 Nov 1995. (0310) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0064 19951107\R-0011.SOL)
