Saltenberger, 312/669-5966 or Teri Wilcox-DuBois, 312/669-5974 The Chicago Facilities Service Office, U.S. Postal Service is soliciting written expressions of interest from contractors desiring to be placed on a prequalified contractor's list for Design/Build of postal facilities ranging in size from approximately 1,000 to approximately 50,000 square feet to be constructed on USPS owned and/or leased sites. Prequalification statements will be evaluated by the Contracting Officer's staff based on criteria including, but not limited to, the following: 1. Comparable Design/Build experience; 2. Financial stability and bonding capacity; 3. References of previous clients; 4. Capacity to perform multiple projects; 5. Project Management capability; 6. Company organization; 7. Minority participation and commitment; 8. Company safety program; 9. Geographic location. Contractors interested in being considered for placement on the prequalified contractor's list must submit a written request for a prequalification package, which will include PS Form 254/255. Packages will be available on or about November 8, 1995 at no charge. Packages may be obtained by written request to Teri Wilcox-DuBois. Requests may also be telefaxed to 312/669-5959, ATTN: Teri Wilcox-DuBois, however, a written hard copy must also be submitted via U.S. Mail. Written requests for application must be postmarked no later than thirty (30) calendar days from the publication date. Contractors must submit the prequalification statement to the attention of Teri Wilcox-DuBois, Facilities Contract Specialist, U.S. Postal Service, 222 S. Riverside Plaza, Suite 1200, Chicago, Illinois 60606-6150, no later than December 8, 1995, with the package identified as Prequalification Package, Solicitation No. 162640-96-A-0214, on the outside of the envelope. Firms selected as the most highly qualified will be placed on the prequalification list. Firms not selected will be notified within sixty (60) calendar days of the due date. The prequalified list will remain effective for twenty-four (24) months from the date the list is established, howeve, twelve (12) months after the effective date of the list, all prequalified firms will be required to demonstrate that they still meet the required prequalification criteria and they can still responsibly perform the required services. The listed contractors will be requested to submit cost proposals for each facility. The U.S. Postal Service reserves the right to delete from the prequalified list, any contractor that is no longer deemed to be responsible or is otherwise ineligible to receive a contract award. The U.S. Postal Service reserves the right to prequalify additional contractors that will be eligible to receive solicitations for the duration of the eligibility period.
