OPM intends to issue an order against Mead Data Central through Contract No. 95CLFB70008. OPMC for renewal for the following subscription service located at Boyers Data Processing Center in Boyers, PA., for the period 10/1/95 through 9/30/96. Lexis/Nexis provides an on-line ADP service to search national and world-wide indices. This system is valuable when conducting merit systems and suitability investigations, or investigations involving notoriety or prominent individuals to determine any adverse or criminal activity. The system will also be used when scheduling investigations with special coverage requirements such as astronauts, White House Fellows, Presidential Rank Awards, contact positions. No contact will be made on the basis of any responses to this notice because this synopsis of intent to place an order against an existing schedule contract shall not be considered a solicitation document. No solicitation documents exists, therefore a request for a solicitation will be disregarded. Responses should be addressed Attn: Little, 96-IA60001 and include contract number if appliccable, and full costing information as well as descriptive literature containing sufficient technical documentation to establish a bonafide capacity to meet the requirement. Responses which merely offer to conduct a program to meet the Government's requirements will be considered invalid responses. All responsible sources may respond to this synopsis and will be fully considered. If as a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis of intent, the contracting officer may determine that the solicitation will be issued. If a solicitation is issued, no additional synopsis will be issued. Any such solicitation will be issued to the intended schedule vendor and all firms that respond to this synopsis of intent or otherwise request a copy of the solicitation. If no affirmaative written responses are received within fifteen (15) calendar days after the publication of this synopsis to the affect that comparable sources are available, and is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Mead Data Central.
