The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with the National Law Enforcement Telecommunications Systems (NLETS), Inc., Phoenix, AZ, for access to their computerized, high speed message switching system. DOJ users require access to NLETS to exchange free form criminal justice and criminal justice related information with state and local criminal justice agencies, state motor vehicle departments or other state agencies providing routine vehicle registration or driver's license information. Access is currently being provided to over 5000 terminals nationwide, including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
