301/713-0829 STAT-USA is a unit of the Economics and Statistics
Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce/NOAA. STAT-USA complies and
provides computer access to over 500,000 Federal documents, collection
from three dozen agencies, via computer bulletin board services,
Internet access and information services, and CD-ROMs. STAT-USA's
products include economic indicators, trade statistics, trade leads,
and other business information, appearing under the titles of Economic
Bulletin Board(r), the National Trade Data Bank (tm),
STAT-USA/Internet, and others. STAT-USA wishes to promote wider access
to its information collection by entering into distribution
partnerships with organizations having electronic information
distribution services or channels, distributing general or specified
information. The partnership arrangement would provide for STAT-USA to
deliver all or part of its data repository to a partner's computer
site that would ''mirror'' of or link to the STAT-USA site. STAT-USA
would provide continuous updates on a regular basis to this document
collection as information flows to it from contributing Federal
agencies. The arrangement would be on a non-exclusive basis, with
sharing of the revenues as agreed upon by the parties. STAT-USA will
continue to operate it's electronic-document collection, formatting,
and storage functions, and will make this collection available via
bulletin board system (BBS), fax transmission, the Internet, and
CD-ROM. STAT- USA intends to enter into partnerships with all qualified
responding organizations. The documents stored and distributed by
STAT-USA are entirely in the public domain. STAT-USA is seeking
information and expressions of interest from vendors who can
demonstrate and document the following: (1) technical capability to
disseminate information by computer-based techniques; (2) adequate
computer capability/power to load and deliver STAT-USA's information
repository; (3) an established market or customer base; and (4) plans
for prooting STAT-USA's data repository. Experience with disseminating
information from other Federal or State agencies is highly desirable,
in addition, to the capability to convert the data into a more
user-friendly format. All responsible sources may submit a capability
statement which addresses the requirements numbered in (1) - (4), to
the address as indicated above. (0311) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0043 19951108\R-0002.SOL)
