The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) will hold the
third in a series of public meetings at 9:00 am on Wednesday, November
29, 1995, at the Atlanta Hilton Hotel located at Courtland and Harris
Streets Northeast, Atlanta, GA. The purpose of this meeting is to
provide an open forum for a free exchange of information and encourage
broader participation of new and diverse organizations in USAID
programs. The meeting also provides a forum for suggestions for
improving and streamlining the process of awarding and administering
contracts, grants and cooperative agreements. It is anticipated that
several senior level USAID officials will make introductory remarks
including the Assistant Administrator for Management. The meeting will
be held in the Grand Ballroom at the Atlanta Hilton Hotel. The meeting
room capacity is limited to 300 persons. Thus, admittance will be on a
first-come first-served basis. The meeting format will include both a
general plenary session and breakout seminars, to discuss topics of
interest to different groups. Topics will include: small and
disadvantaged business utilization, commodity procurement and
procurement in the regions of the world where USAID has Missions.
Questions for the open forum should be presented at the meeting and
should not be submitted in advance. Position papers are not being
solicited. USAID encourages small, and small socially and economically
disadvantaged entities, universities, private voluntary organizations,
Gray Amendment organizations, profit making organizations, non- and
not-for-profit organizations, sole proprietorships, and other
organizations either currently doing business with USAID, or interested
in doing business with USAID to attend this meeting. There is no need
to call for space reservations, or documentation. All necessary
documentation will be available at the meeting facility. Any questions
