McKay, Contracting Officer, (410) 636-4286 Potential Sources Sought: The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking -qualified sources to consider an award of a contract for a Deep Water Sounding Set capable of sensing, displaying, and recording, consisting of the following minimum main features: An Automatic Sounder Recorder unit rated at 1KW power and detection to 6,600 feet with a dry electrosensitive paper recorder; a Transducer unit operating at 28KHZ; a Digital Remote Indicator displaying feet, meters or fathoms and have shallow depth alarms. Depth output format shall be NMEA-0183 for external equipment interfacing. The Deep Water Echo Sounding Set will be used as a replacement onboard Coast Guard 270' WMEC and 378' WHEC cutters. Potential sources having the expertise and required capabilities can submit such data discussing the same in duplicate within 15 days from the date of this announcement. Information submitted after the 15 day deadline will not be accepted. The following information must be provided to evaluate the acceptability of the offered Deep Water Sounding Set: 1) Complete and current engineering data to demonstrate the acceptability of the offered Deep Water Sounding Set (i.e., salient characteristics, functional and serviceability characteristics).
