in the process of developing a COST-benefit analysis for performance
specifications for the C2a1 canister. The proposed canister must be
compatible with current and future protective masks and blowers and
provide performance at least equal to the current canister. The can
ister can be NO heavier or larger than the current canister and agent
capacity must be equivalent or greater than the current canister. The
adsorbent shall remain the detailed specification per purchase
description EA-C-1704. Mobiliziation requirements will dictate
Man-ufacture of this item in the United States or Canada. It is
re-quested that companies interested in the manufacture or capable of
manufacturing this item provide the following information: Potential
benefits of a performance based specification vice the current detailed
specification, information for inclusion or for use in con sideration
in the preparation of a performance based specification for the C2a1
canister, minimum economical production rates and PO-tential COST
savings and general areas in which these savings will occur on a per
