70 -- ADP SOFTWARE POC Joanne Tarr Tel: 410-965-9474 The Social Security Administration is attempting to identify vendors that can provide an off-the shelf software product and subsequent maintenance for such software, which is the functional equivalent of SoftTouch Systems, Incorporated's software product: CICS-WINDOWS; Any such equivalent shall have the following functions and features: 1) Provides the capability to move quickly between CICS transactions without exiting or ending the transactions; 2) Allows several transactions to remain active simultaneously on the terminal; 3) Makes one terminal appear as several terminals; 4) Allows the user to split the screen or open ''pop-up'' windows anywhere on the terminal screen; 5) Allows the user to use an application within each window, just like on a full screen terminal; 6) Makes it easy to copy information from one screen and use it in another with the ''cut and paste'' feature. The CICS-WINDOWS software or its equivalent will be installed on an IBM 9021/900 mainframe system located at the National Computer Center, Baltimore, Maryland. Firms having the capability to provide the required software and maintenance service are invited to submit complete details. Interested parties must respond to this notice in writing within 15 calendar days from the date of this publication. The responses must clearly state the ability to provide and maintain the required software product. PLEASE REFER TO CICS-WIN.JT when responding to this announcement. This is a request for product information only, not a Request for Proposal(RFP). No contract award will be made on the basis of responses received; however, this information will be used in SSA's assessment of capable sources.
