JOINT USAF/INDUSTRY ACQUISITION REFORM TRAINING: The Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force (Acquisition), SAF/AQ, and the Air Force Association (AFA), are co-sponsoring a Joint USAF/Industry Acquisition Reform Training event to provide industry and Air Force acquisition personnel knowledge of the unique aspects of Air Force acquisition reform. Lectures will address changes in USAF solicitations to include streamlined requests for proposals, statement of objectives, the impact these initiatives are intended to have, and how offerors are expected to respond. Source selection lectures will illustrate best value source selection process, use of past performance, and risk evaluation. Other topics include the USAF Integrated Product Team approach to teaming with contractors, and a military specifications and standards update. The first session is scheduled at Fort Belvoir, VA, at the Howell Auditorium, on December 7, 1995, 0800-1700. Due to seating capacity, attendance is limited to the first 300 registrants. The training will be repeated at two additional sessions on 23-24 January 1996, at the Ft McArthur Community Center, San Pedro, CA. Registration is limited to 150 each day.
