COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF NOVEMBER 13,1995 PSA#1471TRADE MISSION TO KOREA AND TAIWAN The U.S. Department of Commerce
invites U.S. software firms to participate in a trade mission to Korea
and Taiwan, June 10-14, 1996. This trade mission will help U.S.
companies make valuable contacts with potential agents and distributors
in two of Asia's rapidly growing software markets. International Data
Corporation (IDC) estimates that Korea's packaged software market will
grow almost 40% annually between 1995 and 1999 (to 1.8 billion) while
Taiwan's market is expected to grow over 20% annually (to $556
million) during the same period. As part of this event, mission members
will participate in customized one-on-one business meetings with
pre-qualified potential agents and distributors; attend briefings on
the local software market and business climate at each stop; and
receive on-site support by U.S. Department of Commerce staff. Group
interpreter services will also be provided. The trade mission will
visit Seoul, Korea and Taipei, Taiwan. Companies may participate in
either or both of the mission's stops. The participation fee for this
event is $1,500 for Taiwan, $2,500 for Korea, or $3,500 for both stops.
The application deadline is March 29, 1996. For more information,
