The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) The development of the new south sanitary landfill occupying a total of approx 40 acres. Work includes clearing and grubbing, abandonment of 16 monitoring wells and installation of 2 monitoring wells, grading, installation of flexible membrane liner (40 mils) and 18 passive landfill gas vent systems, provide and placement of general fill, topsoil and seeding. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $5,000,000 and $7,500,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 300 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damaage in case of failure to complete the work in the time allwoed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bid sets will be available on/a October 2, 1995. Half-size plans and specifications will be furnished upon request. All requests for solicitation packages should be made in writing no later than 14 days prior to bid opening. After such time, packages will be furnished if supply is available. It has been determined that the number of sets be limited to 1 (one) per firm (additional copies will be the responsiblity of the requestor).
