The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute intends to negotiate with General Electric Company, 7272 Park Circle Dr., Hanover, MD 21045, to provide full service maintenance for a ten month period on a General Electric Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Signa 4T System, Identification Number 301496BIGMR. The GE standard maintenance agreement covers planned maintenance service for an electrical and hydraulic system inspection, CPUs and software functionally test, patient light alignment, leakage current test and adjustment, emergency cradle and table release test. Equipment lubrication and filter replacement. Periodic system calibration tests and adjustments to achieve image and signal processing quality. This service relates to RF coil running, transceiver gain, phase adjustment, magnetic field homogeneity adjustment to the extent required by a Covered Component repair covered by the Agreement, eddy current calibration, gradient field calibration and RF amplifier calibration. In addition, radio frequency power tests will be conducted to verify the accuracy of the RF Power Monitor. FCC testing and reporting will be conducted if required. The agreement will also cover repair service due to the malfunction of covered components. The repair service shall include; replacement parts as required on an exhange (refurbished) or new part basis. Labor costs to install the replacement parts is included in the agreeement.
