Z -- INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA, MINTON CAPEHART FEDERAL BUILDING ELEVATOR IMPROVEMENTS SOL GS05P96GAC0018 DUE 010896. Contact, Suzanne Delich, Contract Specialist, 317/226-5514. Scope of the work consists of but is not limited to upgrading one (1) freight elevator and six (6) passenger elevators. Work shall include providing for all elevators new supervisory control, SCR drive controller, SCR drive unit, microprocessor controlled logic controllers for car opertion, CPU screen, keyboard and printer in elevator machine room. Providing new travel cables, car operating panels-main and auxiliary, group automatic controller, car and hoistway door hardware, control wiring, control adjustments, and testing. Providing new hall call panels to comply with handicap accessibility standards keeping as close as possible to the original design, materials and finish. Upgrades shall include emergency fire alarm system tie-ins, smoke detectors, and elevator emergency recall operation. Upgrades shall include the installation of ceiling mounted photoelectric smoke detectors in all elevator lobbies except the first floor which shall be provided with wall mounted projected beam type transmitter and receiver units. Smoke detectors shall also be provided in the elevator machine room and tone annunciation will be added to the elevator cars. Elevator recall shall be removed from the existing building alarms and shall only be operated by the elevator lobby and machine room smoke detectors. Provide a rooftop packed air conditioning unit and necessary ductwork to ventilate and air condition the elevator machine room. Provide an exhaust fan to serve the elevator machine room when primary rooftop package unit is not operating. Install new roof access door. The completion time for this project is four hundred fifteen days (415) from Notice to Proceed. Estimated cost is between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Specifications will be available on or about December 4, 1995. Proposals will be opened privately at the General Services Administration, Property Management Contracts, Attn: Suzanne D. Delich, 575 North Pennsylvania Street, Rm. 692, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204-1524. Proposals should be received on January 8, 1996, by 4:00 P.M. (Eastern Standard Time) and should identify the project title, solicitation number, and proposal closing date on the outside of the envelope. The proposed contract is being procured on an unrestricted basis and is open to all business concerns. Additionally, this procurement is a labor surplus area set-aside. A subcontracting plan will be required from all large businesses. Failure to submit an acceptable subcontracting plan is cause for rejection of individual proposals.
