A -- EIGHT CHANNEL SHIPBOARD RECORDER/REPRODUCER POC Evelyn Lamendola, 02-32, 703-602-0673. Synopsis No. 09. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWARSYSCOM) is seeking qualified sources for the development and production of a Recorder /Reproducer. SPAWAR is planning to procure approximately 400 units starting in FY98. The Recorder/Reproducer Set must receive audio signals from radio equipment, convert them to Digital data and store them on digital media. The Recorder/Reproducer shall consist of all necessary electronics required to receive, digitize and record a minimum of eight channels. The Recorder/Reproducer shall be capable of being expanded to recording at least 48 channels of data simultaneously. The Recorder/Reproducer shall be capable of operating in the shipboard environment, including vibration, humidity, temperature, and EMI compatibility. Firms are invited to submit qualifying information which describes expertise and experience with shipboard recorder/ reproduction equipment design and production and the facilities required to provide the production effort, an assessment of any risks involved, preliminary plans for accomplishing the production, previous related engineering efforts, and total number of employees, including affiliates. Firms must state whether they are a Large Business, Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business or 8(a). Closing date for submissions of qualifying information is 30 days from publication of this notice. This is not a Request For Proposal (RFP) nor does the government intend to pay for information solicited. Proprietary data submitted in response to this synopsis will be protected when so designated. The qualifying information shall not exceed 20 pages in length. Acknowledgment of receipt will not be made and telephone inquiries will not be honored.
