N -- ACTIVATION OF AEGIS BASELINE TRAINING CONFIGURATION SOL N00178-96-R-2002 DUE 020196 POC Linda R. Coleman, Contract Specialist, Code S123, (540) 653-7942. This pre-solicitation notice is for RFP N00178-96-R-2002 which will be issued approximately 12/01/95 with an estimated closing date of 02/01/96. A Site Visit will be held approximately two weeks after RFP issuance. The purpose of this effort is to activate the Baseline 6 and 7 training systems at the AEGIS Education Center, Dahlgren, Virginia. Four individual configurations will be activated: Baseline 6 Phase I/CEC OPEVAL 98 to be operational by July 1997; Baseline 6 Phase I to be operational by February 1998; Baseline 6 Phase II to be operational by September 1999; and Baseline 7 Phase I to be operational by September 2001. The contractor will plan, engineer, document, implement, activate, test, operate and maintain the above configurations consisting of tactical and support equipments, simulators, emulators, part-task trainers and support computer programs, interfaces to existing baseline configurations and all documentation. The effort also includes Baseline 7 Phases II and III pre-activation planning. A Cost-Plus-Award-Fee (Completion) contract is anticipated. Award is planned for September 1996 with completion at Government acceptance of Baseline 7 Phase I. The RFP will be issued on an unrestricted basis.
