This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this synopsis or to otherwise pay for the information solicited except as provided in subsection 31.205-18, Bid and Proposal Costs, of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). The United States Navy is requesting information concerning non-developmental ultrawideband sources for radar applications. Sources should have pulse widths of 1ns or less, and carrier frequency up to X band. The following information is requested: (1) Description of source, including existing applications, (2) Performance data including peak power, average power, pulse shape (include measurement plot), pulse repetition rates, pulse-to-pulse phase stability, output impedance, size and weight. Performance data should be referenced to the output of the source not an antenna, (3) Cost in lots of 1, 10 and 100. Responses should be received no later than 20 December 1995. This is not a request for solicitation and any response to this request for information cannot be used by the Government to form a binding contract.
