Officer, Dennis J. Bradley. The U.S. Army is planning to execute a
modification to increase the contract ceiling price by $9.65 million on
Contract No. DAAB07-92-D-E026 with GTE Government Systems Corporation.
The U.S. Army is interested in other sources for iterim continuation
of support for NORTEL (formerly Northern Telecom Inc.) Electronic
Digital Switch (EDS) systems and associated equipment. Interim support
is required to permit uninterrupted service while the follow-on Long
Term Life Cycle Support (LTLCS) contract, to support NORTEL EDS
systems, is being solicited (See CECOM Electronic Bulletin Board for
Solicitation No. DAAB07-96-R-L259). The follow-on competitive LTLCS
contract will be worldwide and DOD wide with an estimated contract
value of $188 million. Award of the follow-on LTLCS contract is planned
for June 1996. The EDS systems requiring interim support are NORTEL
models SL-100, SL-1 and DMS-100. Other vendor equipment to be supported
includes telephone management systems, operations and management
systems, dial assistance management systems, ISDN applications, and
peripherals. Equipment is located in Korea, Japan, Europe, Southwest
Asia and the United States. Offerors must be NORTEL distributors and be
able to obtain subcontract agreements with numerous vendors supporting
the telephone management and dial assistance management subsystems.
Vendors responding to this notice must be capable of providing seamless
transition of existing field service support and extended service plan
support for Korea, CONUS and Southwest Asia locations until the
follow-on LTLCS contract is awarded. Services required include: Depot
level support; Short Term and Long Term Field Service Support as well
as Emergency Field Service Support, 24 hours a day 7 days a week
including Holidays; Software Support; Software Upgrades; Remote
Diagnostics; Training; Technical Data; and extended service plan. Two
copies of pertaining literature inclusive of product/service
descriptions, or copies of catalogs should be furnished within 10 days
