Miller, Contract Specialist, (904)235-5399 Carol A. Dreger, Contracting
Officer, (904)234-4863. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren
Division, Coastal Systems Station is seeking potential sources on a
high performance, low cost Sensor to provide directional data for a
Navy underwater system. The Sensor must output heading and heading
rate. Additional data ouputs such as such pitch angle, roll angle,
pitch rate and roll rate are desirable but not required. Unaided
heading accuracy must remain within 1.0 degree after one hour duration.
Sensors utilizing measurement of magnetic fields and/or magnetic flux
will not be considered. The system in which the sensor would be used is
expendable, therefore per unit cost is second only to heading
performance in importance. Minimal size and weight are also very
important as the Sensor will be retrofitted into the existing system.
Offerors of information should indicate all technical characteristics
and sensor availability for evaluation and/or purchase. Point of
contact for this action is John Miller, CSS Code SC12, (904)235-5399.
This is a sources sought announcement only. A solicition will not be
issued as a result of this announcment. A new CBD announcement will be
published if a solicitation is developed. (0324) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0448 19951121\58-0017.SOL)
